James also speaks of the importance of the royal law. He also writes so that we would understand Jesus’ fulfilling of the 10 commandments. Jesus didn’t do away with them, He enhanced them. The 10 commandments were never meant to save us, but to show us our sin and imperfection. Jesus fulfilled them and came to bring new life.
